“Creating the Customer Driven Library” is analysis of the book superstore boom. It suggests ways to improve library service, marketing and promotion techniques by taking cues from the customer-driven philosophies of bookstores. Chapters include examinations of what makes bookstores appealing, customer service, identifying customer needs, using technology to enhance services and meet “e-patron” needs, ambience, displays, signage, marketing and publicity.
