The Vermont Library Association has reserved the Card Room at the Statehouse on Wednesday, April 18 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Librarians and trustees will be on hand through out the day to talk with legislators about the importance of library services in Vermont. While we are not asking for direct state funding to public libraries, we do want to emphasize the services of the Vermont Department of Libraries (DOL) to all Vermont libraries. If you can be in Montpelier, even briefly, please stop by the Card Room to support all Vermont libraries. Make your library a welcoming place for deaf people. In this workshop, you will gain an understanding of Deaf culture, learn several useful library-related signs, and be ready to work confidently with interpreters for your programs. Links to video demonstrations and handouts for library-related signs will be made accessible to participants to encourage practice and implementation after the workshop.
