Evening Research Services Library Assistant Internship - Landmark College (Putney, VT)
Landmark College, the nation’s premier college for students with dyslexia, AD/HD, and specific learning disabilities, is offering a paid internship opportunity for a library graduate student to serve as an Interim Evening Research Services Library Assistant for the spring, 2008 semester.
Working 4 pm to 10 pm (Wednesdays – Saturdays) during the spring ‘08 term (approximately 13 weeks), the Evening Research Services Library Assistant will help provide reference, circulation, technology, and other library-related services to the campus community and assist librarians with special projects. The position includes both mentored work with librarians, and from 5 pm to 10 pm Friday and Saturday, solo work.
Qualifications include enrollment in a Masters of Library Science program and interest in working with students who learn differently. Experience in libraries is helpful but not essential. More important is a demonstrated ability to work well with colleagues and clients; ability to work without supervision; motivation; and experience and comfort with computers. A flexible attitude and a strong team/public service orientation are essential.
