Head of Children’s Services – Merrimack Public Library (Merrimack, NH)

Description:
Merrimack Public Library, located in southern NH, is looking for an energetic, detail-oriented librarian to be responsible for all aspects of a lively, innovative Children’s Services Department. This person supervises 1 full-time and 3 part-time library aides. Duties include development and implementation of programs for children from birth through middle school age, reference and readers’ advisory, community outreach, and collection development.

Qualifications:
ALA-accredited MLS required with five years professional library experience in children’s services or equivalent; supervisory experience preferred; proficiency in Microsoft applications a must and familiarity with Horizon and/or Polaris a plus.

Closing date:
May 31, 2008

Salary:
Starting salary range from $39,000-$41,000 with excellent benefit package including NHRS, Health and Dental Insurance.
