Librarian (Manchester, VT)

The Maple Street School Library is an inviting and welcoming space. It houses a collection of nearly 10,000 titles. The collection is automated with Readerware. Students in grades K-4 have regularly scheduled classes of 30 minutes, once-a-week. Students in grades 5-8 use the library and its collection to support academic work, pleasure reading, and independent study time. Currently the position is 2-days-a-week, (14 hours), but days/hours are flexible.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching and Collaboration
Plan and present an engaging, literature rich program for students grades K-4
Promote Dorothy Canfield Fisher program for grades 5-8
Collaborate with faculty to support and enhance their curriculums
Collaborate with faculty to develop a new curriculum on digital literacy
Provide resources for units of study
Assist with student research

Collection
Management of the collection
Cataloging of new, donated, and gifted books
Book processing and repair
New book purchasing
Student check-in/check-out
Generating overdue notices
Monthly displays
Shelving, shelf maintenance
