Library Clerk – Mount Anthony Union High School (Bennington, VT)

We are seeking an outgoing, friendly individual with the ability to build rapport with students and staff, and encourage an overall positive library environment.   • Gather and maintain library usage statistics
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, agencies and community members
  • Assist users in locating resources
  • Assist users in use of equipment, computers, passwords, software programs, online resources, computer searches, etc.
  • Assist users in use of online catalogue and data bases
  • Assist teachers in obtaining instructional materials
  • Assist with scheduling, delivery set-up and return of equipment to classrooms and other areas
  • Manage library computer lab
  • Maintain schedule
  • Prepare for class visits by reserving workstations, pulling materials, pre-loading websites and/or software, setting up laptops as needed
  • Maintain lab area
  • Monitor student computer use via Net Support, reporting violations to appropriate administrator
  • Maintain Senior Project area
  • Liaison with technology department in maintaining and troubleshooting computers, equipment, software, and programs
  • Assist the librarian
  • Assist with the creative development and implementation of library displays and programs; develop programs to stimulate student interest in reading
  • Assist in acquiring, preparing and organizing library materials
  • Shelve returned books and ensure all books are properly organized
  • Assist with inventory and weeding of books and materials
  • Move materials and shelving when needed
  • Attend District training as required
  • Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the supervisor may assign
  • Adhere to all District policies and regulations
Job Requirements:
  • High School Graduate
  • 1-2 years related experience in education or other setting, including libraries, classrooms, or customer service positions
  • Knowledge and expertise of current computer applications (including Google docs)
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
