Union Institute & University, a national university for adult learners offering programs of study leading to Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees is seeking a Research Services and Electronic Resources Librarian at our Montpelier, Vermont academic center. This librarian has primary responsibility for the management of the library’s electronic resources and web pages, and shares in the provision of reference/research support services to our academic community.
Required qualifications include a Master’s degree from an ALA accredited library school as well as excellent research, technology, teaching, presentation, web design, and communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in managing technology applications/software such as integrated library systems, desktop conferencing, link resolvers, ezproxy, Serials Solutions, and ILLiad. Other preferred qualifications include experience with online course management systems and knowledge of database design and reporting software. Also desired are several years of work experience in a college or university library. Applications received by May 23, 2008 will receive primary consideration.

The Trustees of the Blake Memorial Library are seeking a part-time (30 hours per week) Library Director to manage our library, which serves 1,800 patrons in Corinth, Topsham, and surrounding communities. The Director will work collaboratively with the Board of Trustees and will supervise one part-time employee and a capable group of dedicated volunteers. The Trustees are completing work on a 5-year plan for the library, based on recent meetings with many members of the community. The Trustees and community members are enthusiastic about the library and its future and are eager to work with a new Director to achieve the goals in our plan for the library. Candidates should possess an M.L.S. degree or be willing to obtain state certification as a public librarian within five years. Seeking a part-time library professional to staff a growing synagogue library. Responsible for all library functions, including circulation, acquisition, cataloging, and outreach. Primary role of the library is to serve the religious school teachers and students, in addition to adult members. Knowledge of Judaism is preferred, but not necessary.
Hours: Sundays 9am-12pm, and Wednesdays 4-6 pm during the school year. Hourly stipend, no benefits.

The Trustees of the Rockingham Free Public Library are seeking a creative and collaborative Director to sustain the Library’s role in the community. Summary
As the leader of children’s and young adult services, the Children’s Librarian is responsible for the active promotion of library use, reading and literacy for children of all ages – from pre-school through young adult. This involves both long and short-range planning of programs and collections, the implementation of programs in conjunction with children’s staff, overseeing and coordinating the work of other staff in the department, building the collections, and interacting with the community and the schools.
