Content, Access and the Role of Libraries in a Connected –An Online Event (2011 LYRASIS Annual Meeting)

On Wednesday November 9, 2011, from 1:30 to 4:00 PM Brooks Memorial Library will  host the 2011 LYRASIS Annual Meeting.  This year’s meeting theme is Content, Access and the Role of Libraries in a Connected World, and will feature a keynote address by Siva Vaidhyanathan, author ofThe Googlization of Everything, as well as updates from LYRASIS staff and board members, and an open discussion for all participants.

LYRASIS Opens Nominations for Two Awards

Atlanta, GA, April 1, 2010 – LYRASIS, the nation’s largest regional membership organization serving libraries and information professionals, announces that nominations are now open for two awards.

The LYRASIS 2010 Excellence Award will honor one individual who has made a significant and exceptional contribution in areas central to LYRASIS’ vision of strengthening libraries through collaboration, creative solutions, and leadership for libraries. The 2010 Award includes a $2500 award and a one-year free membership to LYRASIS for the recipient’s institution.

The LYRASIS 2010 NextGen Librarian Award will honor three librarians new to the library profession who demonstrate an innovative and fresh approach to the profession and are leaders in our rapidly changing world. They will receive an honorarium to cover registration and hotel accommodations to a library conference of their choice.

LYRASIS Launches Discount Program for Unemployed Librarians

Atlanta, GA, September 17, 2009 — LYRASIS announces the launch of a discount program to support currently unemployed librarians and the library community during these difficult economic times. These librarians may take advantage of a 50% discount on classes and workshops offered by LYRASIS, whether or not they were formerly employed by a LYRASIS member institution. There is no limit to the number of classes they may take.

Boards Approve Recommendation For NELINET To Join Lyrasis

Atlanta, GA, and Southborough, MA, April 16, 2009 – The Boards of Directors of NELINET and Lyrasis approved a resolution to recommend NELINET join Lyrasis. Together, Lyrasis and NELINET will comprise the largest membership collaborative of its kind serving more than 4,500 libraries and cultural heritage institutions in New England, the Mid-Atlantic, and the Southeastern United States.
