While we hope that we have planned a helpful and successful event for October 13th, registration is quite low at the moment and we can’t succeed without all of you!  We hope that this post will provide some encouragement to those of you who just haven’t gotten around to registering yet!

  • Anyone who registers for the conference before midnight next Tuesday, Sept 25th, 2012 will be entered in a raffle to win one of *three free registrations*.  Don’t worry, if you’ve already registered, you will be automatically entered.  The three winners will have their conference payment refunded in full.
  • We are pushing back the start time of the conference from 8am to 8:45am.  This means that the schedule will be as follows:

VT Library Tech Club and Tech Unconference

Greetings. I’d like to take this opportunity to invite anyone with an interest to join what we’re calling the VT Library Tech Club. It’s intended to be an informal group to discuss technology in libraries, to ask questions, share experiences, and collaborate within the state. We’re not assuming a particular level of experience with technology, just an interest in the topic. Survey Results Are In! – 118th Annual Vermont Library Conference

The Vermont Library Conference committee would like to thank everyone that took the time to answer our recent survey. A bit over half of the respondents were from public libraries, 34% from academic and the remainder other.

As to the question of preference for future conferences, Burlington area took 39% of the vote, while central was at 19%, southern 6% and move every year 14%. Comments largely followed the numbers. While several stated they preferred Burlington, they would be willing to drive to central Vermont to be “fair.” The two campuses most frequently cited as desired locations were St. Michael’s and VTC in Randolph.
