Reminder to Public Libraries:
The Department of Libraries has signed a contract with Recorded Books to offer Universal Class at no cost to all Vermont Public Libraries beginning on September 1, 2011. All citizens of Vermont who have access to the services of a public library are eligible to use this online learning resource for free in the library or from remote sites.
1. To learn more, register for a free webinar:
|Once registered you will receive an email confirming your registration
with information you need to join the Webinar.
| System Requirements
Required: Windows® 7, Vista, XP or 2003 Server
Required: Mac OS® X 10.5 or newer
2. To participate, public libraries must register their barcode scheme with the Department of Libraries at:http://libraries.vermont.gov/barcodereg
If your library is not automated and you do not use patron barcodes: Libraries can develop a barcode numbering system and assign barcode numbers to each patron. To establish the pattern of barcodes, use the online “Barcode Registration for VT Public Libraries” form at the Department of Libraries website:http://libraries.vermont.gov/barcodereg
Once you have registered your barcode scheme, the Department of Libraries will print up to 100 labels with sequential barcode numbers for you to give out to your patrons. This service is available only for those libraries that are not able to provide barcode numbers to their patrons. Submit the Barcode Registration Form and contact Renee Ancel at firstname.lastname@example.org to get your labels.
We hope you’ll promote this wonderful new resource to your patrons!
