VLTA and DOL offer spring trustee workshops

Workshops for public library trustees and directors around the state begin March 24, in conjunction with the UVM Town Officers Educational Conferences. To register for any of the TOECs, find the form online at http://regonline.com/toec08 . The fifty dollar cost includes morning coffee and lunch. Of special interest to libraries and Vermont history buffs: the morning keynote will be the Vermont Humanities Council on the Civil War Project.

New to the workshop lineup this year: going green at the library. Consider making your building more energy efficient, passive solar, and heating and cooling systems that are friendly to the environment. “Efficiency Vermont” will review choices and issues.

Dates/locations: Monday, March 24, St. Michael’s College Colchester

Thursday, April 10, Lyndon State College, Lyndonville

Wednesday, April 16, Holiday Inn, Rutland

Thursday, April 24, Lake Morey Inn, Fairlee

Wednesday, April 30, Mt. Snow, West Dover
