February 7th 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM
Vermont Department of Library’s career resource, Career Transitions, has a new look and several new features. This workshop will focus on making you familiar with this complete, self-paced resource that walks job-seekers through the entire process of finding a career from assessing strengths and interests, to exploring new opportunities, to ultimately improving the chances of landing a job. Career Transitions is a turnkey career resource that saves staff time and effort and provides users with an easy-to-use tool to support their job search from start to finish. We’ll look at popular features and talk about ways to integrate this resource into your library.
February 13th 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM
This 1.5 hr workshop will go behind the scenes of Gale resources provided by Vermont Department of Libraries. Did you know you can put a search box for Gale resources on your library’s web page? We’ll cover that access point plus more; pick the best one for you and your community! We’ll also take a look at different ways of configuring the interfaces of your Gale databases to make them as easy to use as possible using Gale Admin. Lastly, we’ll take a look at accessing and running usage reports – you’ll be able to find out how many people are accessing your Gale resources from home and in the library!
