Youth Services Librarian (Chester, VT)

The YOUTH SERVICES LIBRARIAN supervises child and teen services and is responsible for the operation of the children and teen rooms and all child and teen programing. The ideal candidate for this position must be able to manage children’s and young adults’ materials collection, to plan, organize and deliver library services and programs to children, young adults and families, to manage catalog and related databases for the purpose of inventory and patron access, to assist all patrons in finding and using library materials and technology, to assists patrons at circulation desk including all circulation desk functions.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of public library functions, methods and routines, considerable knowledge of the needs and abilities of children of all ages and the available library materials and services. Good knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration as applied to library service.

College degree preferred background in library profession important, proficient computer skills, dependability, flexibility, considerable customer service skills, and willingness to learn new skills. Hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10-6 and Saturday10-2
