Call for Tech Posters for NELA Annual Conference

The Information Technology Section is sponsoring a Tech Topics poster
session at the NELA annual conference October 17-19. If you have a
great project and would like to be one of a dozen or so presenters,
please get back to me with your poster topic.

The session is being described as: “Check out cutting-edge projects
and talk to the librarians implementing them at this informal drop-in
session. Among the topics covered: marking the library on YouTube,
Power-Point marketing at the circulation desk, GoogleDocs for
tracking data, producing “help” videos using Camtasia and open source
alternatives, technology training for staff, circulating ebook
readers, and much much more.”

We have commitments for 4-5 of these (not tech training, not
circulating ebook readers) and need the much much more.

You should prepare for a self-contained project, if you can. Each
poster will have a table and electricity. Internet may be available,
but will not be free to the conference, so consider that in your
project. Although you cannot get free registration or meals, you will
get a speaker’s ribbon. The scheduled time is Tuesday October 19 from
1:00-2:30. In the spirit of full disclosure, this is during the
Tuesday lunch and speaker.

Please share your talent and creativity with others at this First
Annual Tech Topics poster session. Let me know if you are interested.
