Job Summary: The Dana Medical Library is searching for a Library Support Generalist to join their team. This staff member will oversee public service library operations during evening and weekend hours for the Dana Medical Library, which serves the information needs for the Larner College of Medicine, College of Nursing and Health Sciences and the UVM Medical Center. Responsible for building security and enforcing policy. Facilitate the use of the Library’s computer resources, including the online catalog, webpages, instructional support, and other computing resources; provide reference services and library instruction as needed. Perform stack maintenance, respond to department email regarding patron requests, run daily reports, and collate statistics.
Special Conditions: Weekend work required, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, 3rd Shift (Shift differential applies.)
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma, two years college coursework and one to two years of related experience and knowledge of computer applications (email, Internet, web browsers, Windows) and hardware required. Effective communication and customer service skills required.
Desirable Qualifications: Experience in an academic and/ or health sciences library setting desirable. Knowledge of basic library resources desirable.
