VT Library Tech Club and Tech Unconference
Greetings. I’d like to take this opportunity to invite anyone with an interest to join what we’re calling the VT Library Tech Club. It’s intended to be an informal group to discuss technology in libraries, to ask questions, share experiences, and collaborate within the state. We’re not assuming a particular level of experience with technology, just an interest in the topic. We’ve created a Google Group to give us a venue for communication – it’s located at https://groups.google.com/
In addition, I’d like to mention the Library Technology Unconference, which is taking place on Thursday, September 13th, from Noon-4:30 pm, in Berlin:

Carterette Series Webinars from GLA
The Georgia Library Association has announced the July 2012 sessions of the Carterette Series Webinars.
The Carterette Series is a bi-monthly educational webinar series highlighting trends, innovation, and best practices in libraries. The free sessions are open to interested parties from all geographic (and astral) locations.
Can’t make it to the live show? That’s okay! The sessions will be recorded and available on the CSW site for later viewing.
Cataloging & Organization of Library Materials for Better Access
It is with great pleasure that I can now announce that everything has come together for DOL’s 5-day cataloging workshop for directors and staff of public libraries.
Cataloging & Organization of Library Materials for Better Access
A five-day, concentrated, practical workshop for beginners and for public librarians who are cataloging but have had little or no formal training. The DEWEY DECIMAL CLASSIFICATION and the LIBRARY OF CONGRESS SUBJECT HEADINGS will be the basic working tools. MARC cataloging and computerized cataloging services will be covered. Because this type of workshop requires a great deal of individualized instruction, participation in each session will be limited to 16 people.
