Library Collections and Services Facility Assistant – Dartmouth College Library (Hanover, NH)

Under the supervision of the Library Collections Supervisor, the Library Collections and Services Facility (LCSF) Assistant performs a variety of duties associated with the circulation, transfer, and maintenance of the collections and records in the offsite Library Collections Storage Facility. This is a library position working off campus in a warehouse where library materials and records are stored.

Required qualifications:

  • One to three years of records management, library storage operations, warehouse or related work experience.
  • The ability to lift 50 pound boxes throughout a work-day.
  • Ability to lift materials overhead.
  • Must be able to operate a variety of warehouse machinery, including manual and powered lifts.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to comprehend complex and demanding filing systems.
  • Demonstrated creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work in a highly demanding and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree, or the equivalent
  • Experience with OnBase, ILLiad, Alma and other library or records management software

Libraries Facilities Coordinator – University Libraries (Burlington, VT)

The Libraries facility coordinator will be the leader of facilities (five unique buildings/spaces) as they relate to the University Libraries programs. This position oversees safety protocols to ensure the protection of the libraries’ collections, estimated at over $400,000,000, some of which are irreplaceable. Coordinate and lead discussions about library facilities and emergency/safety planning with Library leadership, staff, faculty and on-campus partners such as Physical Plant, Risk Management and Planning, Design and Construction. Oversee construction projects, renovations, and space planning in library facilities. Assume operational oversight and administration of facilities as they relate to research and outreach programs. Assist in formulating goals, strategies and policies for operations, equipment and facilities growth and maintenance. Serve as liaison with internal partners and external contractors; collaborate with university partners to ensure facilities serve the libraries’ and the universities’ educational programs. Manage daily operations and administrative functions and assist in developing operational budgets. Oversee academic and service tenants who are located in library buildings. Monitor inventory, equipment and compliance with internal standards and external regulatory guidelines based on comprehensive knowledge and understanding of University policies and procedures as well as Library standards. Oversee and manage the Libraries Mailroom and Libraries Courier Service. Operate University vehicle as needed.
